The Midnight Chronicle is Panache Digital Games’ public development diary for 1666: Amsterdam, aligned at first with a roughly bi-weekly lunar cadence. Alessia-Rose, social and community lead, introduced herself properly in Issue #02. The series mixes Gameplay Feature videos (Jean-François Boivin), Behind the Shadows interviews, studio notes, and archive poetry. This hub is the index. Patch-sized crash notes are a different post: Crash Fixes. The long log with known issues sits on Early Access updates.

Issue #06 — first post-ship moon (about 28 August 2026)

The Cycle began: Early Access is live. The issue closes the Behind the Shadows Devlog saga with Devlog #3 on sound and music (YouTube RN0H0O9dHgc on our soundtrack page). Composer Jorane, audio director Philippe Charron, designers Sophie-Agnès Mongeau, Dan St-Jean, Morgan Hamel, programmer Kristian Kurk. The Original Soundtrack Steam app and game+OST bundle. Streaming later: Early Access songs first, the rest toward 1.0. Part of the team was still in Cologne for gamescom Opening Night Live; Montreal ran a watch party. What’s coming: they are leaning toward a monthly Chronicle tied to the full moon, with smaller fixes between issues.

Issue #05 — 12 August 2026

Announced the 25 August date. Gameplay Feature #3 — day and night, investigation, militia risk, Aaron, Esbat combat (English embed --KJtmVOf-g on Aaron; French cut lzDg9hQDgrs). Sarah Petri on identity: not a face in the crowd; seal plus true name; Nominem. Gablestones as landmarks for analyze/track. Clio’s decoding as the meta loop. See identity quests and day and night.

Issue #04 — 29 July 2026

Gameplay Feature #2 — Noa and Aaron (-Ib9vbgIbks on Noa). Victoria Diamond and Xiao Yi Hernan interviews. Edge 426 cover. Press trip to Amsterdam. Debugging and extra VO. Next: Feature 3.

Issue #03 — 14 July 2026

Devlog: Painting Three Eras (iQ4EmRLSM88 on characters). Nathan Sioui on a six-person environment team, Blender, Substance, cat-height debris. Q&A: no artbook confirmed; crow and mouse gone; dense enterable houses; in-game bug report for EA; K+M already live; Dutch subs yes, Dutch dub not short-term; Discord invite printed as discord.com/invite/panache. Reuben’s Deli joke for the history nerds.

Issue #02 — 29 June 2026

Steam Next Fest: top 50 most played demos of 4,931. Extended Feature #1 — Zaindaris world (the embed on this page). Philippe Debay narrative (two people; Jess + Debay; harmony with systems). Team favourite Prologue moments. Crash comment window surprised them with useful reports. Official bug tool promised for EA.

Issue #01 — 14 June 2026

Series launch. Mouse/controller dead zone fix from Prologue feedback. 333,000 wishlists within 24 hours of the Prologue. Later, a 20 August-class post celebrated 666,666+ wishlists a week before ship.

FAQ

What video should I watch first?

Feature #1 (this page) for lore, Feature #2 for Noa and Aaron, Feature #3 for the day/night loop, Devlog #3 for music.
